The World Technical Exhibition, for the opening of which the Eiffel Tower was built, was held in 1889. The inventor Elihu Thomson from America also became a participant of the exhibition. Then he was awarded the first prize for the fact that he developed an electric meter. And then, as one of the co-owners of electrical goods companies, he began business cooperation with the French.

As a result, in 1892, the French-American company Compagnie Fracaise Pour Lexplotation Des Procedes Thomson-Houston was created in New York, which began to produce tram electrical equipment.

And at the beginning of the century, it becomes a leading company in the field of film equipment. This company creates the first radio network in America, as well as a film recording laboratory in Hollywood. And the first color film in 1925 was created using Thomson technology.

Thomson then buys radio and television technology firm Etablissements Ducretet and begins developing telecommunications and motion picture equipment. In 1931, Thomson and Philips began making vacuum tubes and radio receivers.

After the war, the company develops electronic devices and is engaged in filming. At the end of the forties, he creates a new TV, the principle of operation of which is fundamentally different from other devices. By the way, Thomson took part in the development of the SECAM color broadcasting standard, which is still in effect not only in France, but also in Russia. And in other countries too.

In the sixties, Thomson produces television equipment on a large scale. Every eighth TV is under the Thomson brand. The company includes new firms. As a result, fundamentally new TVs appear, in which the screen deflection is 110 degrees.

In the next decade, Thomson again merges with other companies, modernizes production. In the eighties, the company, having new technologies, has a huge success in the telecommunications market.

The Thomson brand produces consumer electronics and home appliances created in France. The range of Thomson products today is quite rich.
